Add money to Manna
Fund your Manna account with crypto, a debit card or an exchange. Learn which address to use, what counts as cash, why USDC alone is enough (the network fee comes out of your USDC), and how long deposits take.
Before you can buy anything on Manna you need money in your account. Manna calls everything you can spend cash: the native coins and dollar stablecoins sitting in your Manna wallets on any of the 9 chains Manna supports. You can add cash three ways: send crypto you already own, buy USDC with a debit card, or move funds from an exchange or payment app. This page shows each way step by step, which address to use for what, and the small details that save you a failed first trade.
Before you start#
You need a Manna account. If you sign in with X, Google, Apple, email or another social login, Manna creates two wallets for you on the spot: one Solana wallet and one EVM wallet. The EVM wallet has the same address on Robinhood Chain, Base, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and Avalanche. See Create your account if you haven't signed in yet.
Three ways to deposit#
Open the deposit sheet from your profile (the + button next to Total cash) or from the Deposit button that appears in a buy sheet when you don't have enough cash. The sheet is titled Deposit with and offers three options.
| Option | What the app says | What happens | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crypto | Receive USDC, SOL or ETH from any wallet | Shows your address and a QR code to send to | You already hold crypto in another wallet |
| Debit card | Buy USDC with a card, lands in minutes | Opens a card checkout that buys USDC into your Solana wallet | Your first deposit with no crypto yet |
| Exchanges and apps | Coinbase, Binance and more | Opens a flow to move funds from an exchange or app as USDC to your Solana wallet | Money already on an exchange |
Card and exchange deposits are handled by Manna's wallet provider, Privy. They buy USDC and deliver it to your Solana wallet. The checkout starts with $50 filled in. If card and exchange deposits aren't available for your account, the app says so and asks you to use Crypto.
Deposit crypto step by step#
- 1Tap the + next to Total cash on your profile, or Deposit in a buy sheet.
- 2Choose Crypto. The sheet changes to Receive crypto.
- 3Pick a tab: Solana (USDC or SOL) or Robinhood / EVM (USDC or ETH).
- 4Scan the QR code, or tap Copy to copy the full address.
- 5In the wallet or exchange you're sending from, paste the address, pick the matching network, and send.
- 6Wait for the transfer to confirm. Your Total cash updates on its own.
Under the QR code the sheet tells you exactly what to send: "Send only USDC or SOL on Solana to this address" on the Solana tab, and "Send only USDC (USDG on Robinhood) or the chain's coin, on a chain Manna supports, to this address" on the EVM tab. Below that: "Deposit USDC or SOL, either works" (or "USDC or ETH" on the EVM tab), because when you hold only USDC the network fee comes out of that USDC (a few cents).
Which address for what#
| You want to send | Network to pick in the sending app | Tab in Receive crypto |
|---|---|---|
| SOL | Solana | Solana |
| USDC | Solana | Solana |
| ETH | Robinhood Chain | Robinhood / EVM |
Your EVM address is the same on every EVM chain Manna supports, and Manna reads your balance on all of them. So native coins and USDC that arrive on Base, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon or Avalanche also count as cash (see the table below). The deposit sheet only lists the routes above because they are the simplest; if you send on another EVM chain, make sure the network in your sending app matches one of the chains in the table.
Universal cash: one balance across chains#
Manna adds up the spendable balance in both of your wallets on all 9 chains and shows it as one dollar number. When you buy a token on any chain, Manna pays from that cash and, if the money sits on a different chain, moves it for you first. You never switch networks or bridge by hand. How Manna picks where to pay from is explained in One-tap trading and universal cash.
What counts as cash#
| Chain | Native coin | Stablecoin |
|---|---|---|
| Solana | SOL | USDC |
| Robinhood Chain | ETH | USDG |
| Base | ETH | USDC |
| Ethereum | ETH | USDC |
| BNB Chain | BNB | USDC |
| Arbitrum | ETH | USDC |
| Optimism | ETH | USDC |
| Polygon | POL | USDC |
| Avalanche | AVAX | USDC |
Only these 18 assets count. Other tokens you hold (memecoins, other stablecoins, wrapped tokens) are holdings, not cash, and show in your portfolio instead. Balances worth less than half a cent are ignored. Stablecoins count at $1; native coins count at their live price.
Gas: deposit USDC or the chain's coin, either works#
Every transaction pays a small network fee (gas) in the chain's native coin. You don't have to hold any: deposit USDC or SOL (or USDC or ETH on an EVM chain), either works. When you hold only USDC, Manna handles the network fee and takes it from your USDC (a few cents). How that works on each chain is in One-tap trading and universal cash.
- Solana, USDC only. Before your first trade, Manna swaps a little of your USDC (about $1 to $2) into SOL for your wallet so it can pay its next few fees, and Manna's keeper fronts the fee of that one swap. The same swap takes $0.02 of your USDC to pay that fee back. You need at least $2 of USDC on Solana. This works for your Manna wallets and for a connected wallet such as Phantom (it asks you to approve the swap once).
- EVM chains, USDC only (your Manna wallets). Moving USDC to another chain needs no gas at all: you sign a USDC permit and the route needs no gas coin from you. To spend USDC on the same chain, Manna sends your wallet a few cents of the chain's coin, and your wallet pays it back in USDC, plus $0.02, in its very next transaction. You need at least $5 of USDC on that chain. Ethereum mainnet is the exception: its gas is too expensive for this, so to spend USDC on Ethereum itself, hold some ETH there. A connected EVM wallet (MetaMask and others) still pays its own gas.
- When Manna buys on a chain, it leaves a small amount of that chain's native coin unspent: about 0.003 SOL on Solana, 0.0006 ETH on Ethereum, and 0.00005 of the native coin on the other chains.
- When Manna pays from a native balance on another chain, it keeps some of it aside for fees: about $0.50 of SOL, $3 of ETH on Ethereum, and $0.30 on the other chains.
- In a buy sheet you can spend up to 97% of your cash in one buy, which is what Max fills. The rest is room for fees and price moves.
How long it takes#
- Solana: a transfer usually confirms within seconds of being sent.
- Robinhood Chain and other EVM chains: usually seconds to a minute, depending on the chain and the app you send from.
- Debit card: the app says it lands in minutes; the card provider's checks can add time.
- Exchanges: depends on the exchange's own withdrawal processing.
Once the transfer is confirmed, Manna refreshes your cash on its own. The number reloads about every 15 seconds, so allow up to half a minute before it shows.
First-deposit tips#
- 1Start small. Send a test amount first, check it appears, then send the rest.
- 2Copy the address with the Copy button. Never type it by hand.
- 3Deposit on the chain you expect to trade most. A buy on the same chain as your cash skips the cross-chain step and lands fastest.
- 4No need to send a gas coin: USDC alone works. Keep at least $2 of USDC on Solana (or $5 on an EVM chain) so the network fee can be paid from it.
- 5Turn on one-tap trading right after your first deposit so buys need no wallet pop-ups. The ⚡ Turn on one-tap trading strip in any buy sheet does it in one tap.
- 6Bigger deposits split across several chains are fine, but each buy is paid from one source at a time. If your cash is spread thin, a large buy may need a smaller amount. See One-tap trading and universal cash.
If something looks wrong#
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Cash didn't update | The transfer hasn't confirmed, or the app hasn't refreshed yet | Wait 30 seconds, check the transfer on a block explorer |
| You sent a token that isn't on the cash list | It arrived, but it isn't cash | Find it under your holdings; sell it on Manna to turn it into cash |
| "No Solana wallet connected" or "No EVM wallet connected" on a tab | You signed in with a single-chain outside wallet | Sign in with X, Google, Apple or email to get both wallets |
| Not available yet for card or exchange | Card and exchange deposits aren't switched on for you | Use Crypto |
